Road tax in Cyprus is calculated mainly by its engine size and its capacity. If your car has an engine capacity of 1450 cubic centimeters (cc) and below, you will have to pay 0.04272 € per cc.

Road tax has been increased for passenger vehicles with high CO2 emissions, as well as for newly registered passenger vehicles and vans according to their age.

How much does MOT cost in Cyprus?

MOT costs 35.25 Euro in Cyprus. It must be paid in the same station where the inspection will take place. Results of the test are electronically transmitted to the Department of Transport. Once a test is completed successfully, the vehicle testing station issues the certificate. If the car does not pass the MOT, they will be told what issues the vehicle has and need to be fixed in order to pass. It must be repaired and passed for inspection again.
